Through educational programming and resources, Doorways promotes a community culture of safe and healthy relationships so that sexual and intimate partner violence are less likely to occur.
Doorways’ prevention programming is designed to shift attitudes, behaviors, and social norms to change the conditions that directly contribute to and perpetuate violence. Programming includes workshops, community activities like trivia and film viewings, and campaigns to promote healthy relationships and non-violent communication. Content focuses on helping young people further develop protective factors, understand body autonomy, and live a life free of violence.

The Moak-Fiske Prevention Innovation and Investment Gift
Doorways’ Prevention Program was launched by the $300,000 Moak-Fiske Prevention Innovation and Investment Gift. This extraordinary gift, which includes $50,000 in matching funds, is the first of its kind in Doorways’ history. This gift was given by Kevin Moak and Judy Fiske Moak in honor of Kevin’s mother, Evelyn Arnold Moak, and her lifelong passion for helping the most vulnerable in the community.
Doorways thanks the Moaks for their game-changing support, and for their daring insight to invest in helping Doorways move upstream to prevent violence in our community.
My mom had an amazing level of energy that she channeled into advocacy work related to early childhood education, adult mental health, and support for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. We are thrilled to be able to honor her legacy by helping Doorways create and launch the Prevention Program which is a vital step toward lessening the incidence of violence in our community. We encourage and welcome others to join us in ensuring the success of this important program.
