I left my abuser and moved into my own space, so that’s been the biggest thing. I’m still processing everything, but I was able to do things with my counselor that I wasn’t able to do on my own, like create a safety plan. Both my kids meet with a Revive therapist, and they love her. I love my counselor. We are really grateful, and I don’t think we would be in this safer environment that we are in now without Doorways.

I am grateful to Doorways. Being here has helped me see the impact of domestic violence through a different lens. It has truly helped me change my mindset on what to accept for myself and my children. I appreciate this program, every staff member and volunteer. Everyone is helpful and respectful, and I am beyond grateful.

I feel safe and confident with Doorways. I have found an opportunity to plan how I want to live. I have realized how much it matters to help and support others as human beings.

Both my child and I have made tremendous progress with the help of Doorways. Considering that a year ago we were still experiencing domestic violence, we have come a long way in rebuilding a safe, healthy home environment. My child is still working with the after-effects, and so am I, but we’re doing so much.

I am so grateful for Doorways and the team that is working with me. They have been there for me at my lowest and have celebrated my accomplishments – even the small ones. They’ve helped my kids and I so much. If it wasn’t for Doorways, I don’t know where or what I’d be doing right now. Months ago, I wasn’t sure if I would make it out of my domestic violence situation alive, but because of Doorways, my family and I are now in a safe place. I’ve had challenges, but Doorways has always been there for me.

The Safehouse provided a sense of security AND a community. The people in the house were kind, and it was wonderful to have a supportive environment. The people working at the house were welcoming and knowledgeable. I am also very appreciative of the Court Advocate. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful as I navigate next steps.
