Doorways is a community-based nonprofit providing emergency shelter, services, and supportive housing for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We serve individuals and families, including women, men, youth, and LGBTQIA+ people. Our programs are free and confidential.

Please call our 24/7 hotline at 703-237-0881 for information, support, and to access these programs. Advocates are available to talk 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, every day of the year, even on holidays. If you have questions or concerns about your relationship, or a friend or loved one’s situation, we encourage you to contact us to talk about it.

What to Expect When You Contact Us

24/7 Hotline: 703-237-0881

  • When you call our hotline, an advocate will answer and ask if you’re safe to talk.
  • If needed, the advocate will connect to a translator.
  • We will ask about your reason for calling, and then talk about how we can support you. That may include safety planning, answering questions, referrals to services, and more.
  • We are here to listen, not judge. You and your story are safe with us.
